Own experience: Depression is not an evaluation of your life. What's happening to you has nothing to do with how you stand in your life. How you stand in your life is a consequence of your depression. If you're doing slightly better in life than the next person while your brain is on full tilt mode, that can only mean that you're just a little luckier. No biggie. Besides, with those privileges, you're not really as good off as you think. Privileges can bring responsibilities, and with responsibilities come stress.

You can't help how you feel. It is very inconsiderate when people say things like "other people are worse off." Which is true but it is not your fault you feel depressed and you are allowed to feel however you do.

Yes. Depression can creep up on anyone. Privilege as well as social standing has the biggest effect on feelings.

Yes, Yes you absolutely are. Depression has nothing to do with whether you are living within great conditions... its a lacking you feel emotionally. And that is something everybody experiences, whether it will reach the level of depression is another story but you absolutely have the right to feel depressed, privileged or not.

Yes. Everyone can experience a range of emotions and just because you consider yourself as "privileged", that doesn't mean that you cant feel depressed.

You have the right to feel depressed even if you're privileged. You have the right to be depressed whether you're living your dream life, or if you're going through the worst time of your life. Mental health is so common and can hit anyone. What matters, though, is that you seek help and try to help yourself. I know what it's like but I've progressed so much, with the art of positive thinking. I have a perfectly fine life, and I know I had the right to have felt depressed.

Yes. There are people with not great lives who are still privileged or have clinical depression (a medical issue which is genetic) which does not care how much money you have.
