You may have depression, or you may not. Listeners on 7 cups of tea are not correctly placed to provide a diagnosis but we can still support you. The common symptoms of depression are: continuous low mood, feeling helpless, feeling hopeless, having low self esteem, becoming irritable easily, losing interest in things that you once enjoyed, inability to make decisions, having suicidal thoughts and having thoughts of self harm. Physical symptoms include: constipation, changes in appetite, lack of energy, low sex drive and disturbed sleep. Plus, typically depressed people neglect their hobbies, avoid social events and have difficulties at home/work/school. You don't have to have all of these symptoms to have depression, but if you seriously believe you may have depression then you should make an appointment with a medical professional. I hope this answers your question and if you need any more help please reach out to a 7 cups listener.

This is not something for non-professionals to diagnose. That being said, you probably have valid reasons for asking that question.
Something you can do is to list down those reasons, thoughts, symptoms, and experiences. You can also take the Emotional Wellness Test here on 7Cups and take note of the questions where you highly identify with the situation. After that, you can use that as a starting point when asking for help.
Remember, you do not have to be diagnosed with a mental illness for your concerns to be taken seriously.
You do not have to have "worse" struggles just to get aid in living a better life.
