Of course, when i was 6/7 i knew i felt sad, hopeless, helpless all the time i didn't know what depression meant until i got diagnosed by a medical professional. There is also quizzes online now "depression quiz" but don't take that as a diagnosis i suggest you see a medical professional to officially diagnose you and to get you on the right medication. hope this helped xx take care

Definitely! Depression, just like any illness, can go diagnosed for ages. A lot of people feel like that is how they are "supposed to feel", just like how someone who needs glasses might not realise they do until they try some on.

From my past experience, I kept wondering why I felt "funny". It was bothering me of why I lost motivation for things that really made me happy. I noticed I ended up sleeping more and started procrastinating. After talking to friends and family they mentioned I wasn't myself and seemed depressed. So I believe you can be depressed and not know it until others mention that you seem different or feel different yourself.

Yes, it's a new feeling that you're starting to notice. When you do know that you have the symptoms of depression, you should tell someone that way it would be so much easier then going through it alone.

Well, I'd argue yes depending on your knowledge of depression. I had two major depressive episodes without knowing that they were authentic bouts of depression until I got diagnosed later.
