Yes, you can. Most likely because you don't know yet the term for the hollow feeling of sorrow that haunts you. Or probably because you're taken in by the stigma that says to have depression is to be weak so that you tend to deny or rationalise it.

Yes, that's possible. I was depressed for a very long time while being completely unaware of it. I didn't realize until my psychology professor sat me down through an evaluation.

It's very possible. A lot of people can dismiss their symptoms as just having a rough patch or similar when actually they're dealing with a much bigger problem which is chronic or acute depression. I would say that if your loved ones start to comment or you start to feel like it's bigger than what you can handle, seek out a psychologist to work through it instead of risking it on your own.

I think sometimes you don't realise that you're depressed, because you think it's normal and everyone is feeling down sometimes. So yes, I think that's possible. If you think you're depressed, you should deffinitely see a doctor.
