Bullying can have a long lasting impact on the victim, especially if the bullying was severe. Even if the victim was never physically harmed, the psychological effects of bullying can last a while. A common effect of bullying is low self-esteem, and this can unfortunately carry significant mental weight. Everyone's experience with bullying is different, so while one person may be mentally scarred from it, another might not. This does not make either experience any less normal. If someone is experiencing significant distress due to bullying experiences in the past, it is advisable to seek help and talk to someone.

Yes, bullying can cause serious mental damage from a young age. They often don't realize the impact they have and that the effects can be permanent. It is normal to still feel hurt from it because bullying makes people feel left out and hurt. Especially if the bullying is on children and it becomes discrimination. Cyber bullying is also one of the worst forms of bullying because it happens in a less obvious way. Someone could also be bullying and harassing you without being aware of it. So yes, it is normal to have become mentally scarred due to the unkind actions of others. Feel free to get support for it and make more awareness of the effects.
