I’m overweight. I’m tall so that helps, but yes, I am overweight. For the record I’m 6’2” and currently over 17.5 stone (245lbs). So yeah, big and some would say fat. I’m insecure about it, sure I am, who wouldn’t be? I wont take my top off, I hate swimming for that reason. But, then I think, who really cares? People think I’m fat? So what? I personally don’t want that guy with the six pack to think I have a nice body, I’m not interested in him! Everyone is insecure though. To think only overweight people are insecure is daft. Is anyone on the train to work thinking, “look at that guy, he’s so fat”? Maybe, but probably not. I don’t go through my life thinking about other people. I dress well and act confidently, people see past that. If you dress like a fat slob, people see you as a fat slob. If you dress well, people see that you dress well. I still get hit on by girls when I’m out, they don’t see the mass of fat under my clothes that other people see. So I pretend it isn’t there. When it gets to the point where I feel so insecure, I diet and exercise and I lose weight. Then I feel better, then I put it all back on! What I’m saying is, it’s fine to be insecure about yourself, most people are. Just don’t let it ruin or run your life to the extent that it gets you down.

Figuring out what will truly make you happy, whether it's accepting your weight or deciding to lose weight, either way if fine and up to you. Based on your decision set goals to make your decision a reality. Even if you lose weight your mindset may still be insecure so you have to set goals for having a better image of yourself, because losing weight won't make a difference if your not mentally happy and stable.

Self love and body positivity! Once you learn to love your body, you will realise that weight is simply a number and nothing else. You are not made up of that number; people see you in your smiles and personality and I promise you are beautiful. Tell yourself that in the mirror every morning with a cheeky wink ;) I hope one day you will see that, and learn to love your body.

Well I am over weight and deal with this quite a bit. What I do is find an outfit I feel comfortable in or a pamper my self a bit, for example Taking a bubble bath, doing my nails or using a face mask.

Unfortunately you can't just stop being insecure. But you can stop focusing on the flaws of your weight, and focus on the upside.

Just remember you are beautiful inside and out. It doesn't matter about weight. What matter is brains and a kind heart.

As someone who is obese, I know this feeling of insecurity well. As cliche as it sounds, coming to love who you are and understanding that your outer appearance is not the most important thing, will strengthen your personal self "core." Whatever happens to your body after, is what it is. Being happy with what's going on inside will give you the power and freedom to feel happy regardless of looks. I've always said I'd rather be obese than dull and/or rude. :D
