I feel like the best way to ignore someone's words or actions against you is to do what my mom and I call "Considering the Source." If you don't have much regard for the actions and words of the individual mistreating you, then why bother to care about what they say about you? In other words, if you don't trust their opinion on other things, why trust their opinion of you?

Sometimes it is very hard not to become bitter, i always try to remember i can't rely on other people to make me happy. I think the best thing to do when someone upsets you and you find it hard to "turn the other cheek" remember that you don't know whats going on in their life and things for them could be bad also. I say smile and carry on. Learn to focus on all the wonderful things in life and forget about all that could make you bitter.

For me, time, distance and personal growth were the only things that helped. I'm still a bit bitter, but I can recognise that that behaviour is not helpful or healthy for me.

I think the best thing is not to turn the other cheek. But to turn around and walk away from a situation and realise that you can't change a situation.

People become jaded and bitter because they think something or someone has a vengeance for them, and they don't know why. They blame the person or thing, themselves, and the world in general. To not become jaded and bitter, you have to understand that whatever someone is doing to you, they are doing it because they are lost, desperate and confused. They are frustrated with some aspect of their lives or themselves, and they're taking it out on you. It's nothing personal, but you have to see them as suffering humans rather than your tormentors. By empathizing with them, being patient and not retaliating, you are turning your other cheek.

When someone annoys you, or you experience feeling of hate or envy, concentrate on something else. Listen to music, draw a picture, practice a hobby - It's what you feel can preoccupy you! Choose an activity that will keep you absorbed, even if only for a short while.

A way to not become jaded and bitter is to try to forgive when things happen to you and try not to let it cloud yourself negatively. You turn the other cheek by recognizing someone did something bad to you but you don't do something bad in return. This doesn't mean you take abuse or forgive someone for hurting you no matter what. It just means you don't let it posion you emotionally.

As they say about the vulgar masses, the more people flock to a group, the more foolish they become. No matter how prominent an individual is, no, it’s because he is prominent that he would be blotted out by the sheer force of numbers when thrown into that lump of people. Individual will, qualifications, and personality, let alone emotions aren’t considered at all. We see only what we want to see, listen only to what we want to listen to, but for the things we want to say, we aren’t able to. This is the society that we’re living in right now.
