Speaking from experience. The best way to forget someone you love is to focus on YOU and to see the NEED to focus on you. And I mean focusing on being a better version of you.
**Try something new like learning to cook or dance.
**Focus on your health and well-being and eat right. Exercise and keep that body healthy and strong.
**Also try to be really good at what you do and what you love to do. Then do so! So for e.g., I love to dance so I try to learn to do new dance moves to make me feel good in myself. So do things that boost your confidence and ego and hopefully you'll realize you are mad fun and that you are perfectly fine without that person.
**Finally, are you good at listening to and helping others? Don't refrain from helping others who have their problems because that also helps you to stop thinking about that person since you are focusing on someone else.

I'd say the best way to do this is to focus on yourself. Do things that you enjoy, take care of your health, reach out to friends and family. Just focus on you. I recently experienced this myself, and I've found this to be best.

You just got to forgive that person and forgive yourself for what has happened and let go. Always remember that there are brighter days a head and you are responsible to achieve it.

dont suppress your thoughts....the harder you try, the more you would think..so instead for once and all think about the person to the level you get exhausted and soon you will start focusing on present

Going to a trip with close people could really help. Instead of staying at home some activities could always get mind off. Games like football, cricket and others which require active participation and physical presence could really help in this aspect. Also, talking to a friend about your tough time changes the way you start looking at things. It might help to really move on.

Time. Change your routine. Go to places you do not want to go. Meet new people you do not hang out with all the time.

To forget someone we love and think about everyday is one of the toughest things.. We can never erase them from our brains.. And if we are actually able to erase them then that was not love it was more of attraction.. If you really want that person to occur lesser in your thoughts than he/she does now you will have to talk to yourself.. Yes it sounds foolish but talking to yourself helps.. Ask yourself what is it that I want.. 'To be the only one who loves and when doesn't receive something similar then hurt and destroy myself or... To be loved back in an equivalent way'.. And be honest while answering that.. Once you ask yourself to truly move forward you would be able to make your time and your life even better than what it was.. Hoping this helps :)

I don't think there is a best way to forget someone that you love so much especially after a long relationship. You have to work on yourself a lot. Do things that make you happy.
