I would first decide if I would like to continue a relationship with them in terms of a friendship and whether I would like to continue staying in touch with them. If I choose to do neither of those things and wish to end all contacts with them, I would start by deleting/blocking the person on all forms of social media and end all forms of communication with them. This is the first step to the healing process, as it prevents them from being a daily reminder of what you used to have and the experience you have gone through with them. I would surround my self with friends and family and try to focus my energy doing things that will make me happy. Over time, the pain will hurt less and less, as time is the greatest healer for getting over someone you loved.
