It can take a long time to get over someone, and the important thing is not to measure this time in days, weeks or months, but in terms of your progress in healing, and ensuring that you love yourself, and continue looking forward to the future. Breaking up with someone is a grieving process, and it is important to take the time that you need, while never forgetting that there are other people in your life, and that only by looking forward and embracing life can you fully get over anyone, and build a successful and positive future. Getting over does not mean forgetting someone, and it might not even mean not loving someone, but learning how not to be 'in love' with someone, day to day, is crucial, and can take as long as it takes.
