The question is really how soon do you want to. While it does hurt to have someone leave us, it's up to us to decide how soon we want to recover from it. The hardest part for people is accepting the situation whether that being the person left a relationship or has passed away. Acceptance is the first step and that means accepting how you feel and accepting that the situation has happened. So in essence, it's up to you.

It takes a while, but it really depends on who the person is or how much that person meant to you.:)!!

There isn't a timeframe for getting over someone. It takes how ever long the person needs. Whether it be days, weeks, months, years, and it should never worry you if it takes you longer than you expected. You're human.

In my personal experience it took me a year and a half to get over that first person that I truly had feelings for. It depends on how serious the relationship is. If it was for two years then ya it could take a good amount of time. If it was only a month then it may be a shorter amount.

I can't really answer that, because that's very different from person to person. It depends on how much you really cared for that "someone" and who you are as a person too.

There is no definite time frame to 'get over someone', and I truly believe there never will. Some people can love the same person the rest of their life, while some cannot, what you can do is remind yourself that nothing is lost, that everything can teach us, and in time you can learn that nothing is infinite or finite.

If that person was very important then it's going to take a long time, you can do it tho. Life consists in meeting and loosing people.

My ex-boyfriend and I had liked each other for 8 months before we were officially together for a year and 6 months. He then decided to end the relationship because he fell for another girl. It took me 7 months to wholeheartedly get over him. I still love him but would never try to work on another relationship with him because of the magnitude of the pain he caused me. The amount of time it takes would depend on how much you love the person and how much of an impact they've made on your life.

There's no definite answer to this because every one is different. Take your time. Don't rush it. You'll slowly realize you think about this someone.

This varies from person to person. I believe it's possible to never get fully over someone. For me it's usually taken a few months to come to terms with something like that, but years to fully say "I'm okay now."
