Personally, I can tell right away when an ex wants to get back into a relationship. If the ex tries to communicate frequently with positive conversations, or tries to set up a time to hang out that means they most likely want you back.

This can be a difficult thing to figure out without communication, but there may be certain signs that they may show, such as taking an interest in you and giving you their time. If you feel comfortable talking to them and they seem to enjoy talking to you, then you could always ask them.

There really isn't a way to know if your Ex does want you back except by asking them or reading more into the situation. if they persue you more often or just want to make amends about things it's a possibility but don't assume in-less you know for sure or ask them ''hey i was wondering do you want to get back together with them,'' they'll give a answer of Yes or No.

Well, it’s honestly really hard to tell sometimes. But if they want you back they may do things to give you hints, like if you had nicknames while you were dating they could use them, and still getting you stuff for occasions like birthdays and Christmas (this one only applies if they didn’t get you stuff when you were just friends).
