Try to go to sleep with a positive goal for the next day. In the morning, try to achieve it. For example, a goal could be to work out in the morning or greet at least five people. It could even be to complete something you haven't gotten a chance to complete. This way you'll have the opportunity to wake up with a positive and determined mindset and be focused on achieving a goal instead of thinking about negative thoughts. It's a good way to distract yourself from your thoughts and grow as a person.

It could all depend on what you're trying to forget. You can try to do things that make you happy before bed and/or right when you get up. If this problem doesn't resolve itself you might want to consider talking to a counselor

It depends on exactly what you want to forget, sometimes forgetting is not the answer, maybe you need to solve the problem instead of running away from it by sleeping or forgetting.

Think about good things. :) Waking up to another morning is enough reason to be happy. Always choose to be happy. :)
