The thing with waking up sad is that we can't all be happy 7 days a week. We all have sad days, not matter how long they last, they come and go. The idea of forgetting or letting go is quite hard, but I personally believe that step one to forgetting or letting go of a problem is identifying the problem, only from completing this one step can we move on and actually learn to accept and finally let go. Then maybe, and most likely, you'll wake up happy!

Depending on the situation you want to forget. Forgetting a tough time in your life is hard. Most of the time wanting to forget includes a person that you cared for. The memories that you had with them will always be there and you can't always forget them. Remember the good times you had though. Also look at what you learned from that person while they were with you.

My advice would be to not forget. Rather learn from your past, and then proceed to act on that learning to build yourself a beautiful future. A future in which you won't have to wake up sad. :)

Sleeping provides only a temporary relief from problems. Of course you're going to wake up sad! You'll always remember the most impactful thing that happened to you the night/day before. You have to reflect on your problems or your mood or even your whole life for it to be resolved. But it's well worth it. You'll wake up refreshed and ready to take on the world.

There are many times I wake up early with panic and anxiety. It's not that I wanted it, but it was a natural reaction for the events in my life. When this happens, I consciously stop my brain from over thinking. I breathe in and out deeply a couple of times. Then I think of one thing that I appreciate waking up for.
