1. Express gratitude
2. Set your intentions for the day
3. Take five long deep breaths in and out
4. Smile for no reason
5. Forgive yourself for yesterday’s mistakes

This problem is all about perspective. When I was depressed I would wake up sad every day because I didn't see a reason to keep going. The easiest way to help with this is to find something to get up for. If you have a reason to get up everyday your day will start better, because when you have a cause you're glad that you're alive to be able to do it.

Everyday when you wake up, write about a thing that you are hopeful about and/or something that makes you happy on a piece of paper and then put it in a jar. After some time, read all the things you wrote from the jar. It will make you feel much better.

Listen to music as soon as you wake up. Eat your favorite breakfast. Take a bath. Go out shopping. Drink coffee.

For me I look at my wall which has all the attributes, goals, inspirations that I am working to manifest in my life on it. I made a collage from a bunch of donated mags at the library that they were throwing out, cut out things I really like that resonate and I keep them near my bed. Before I go to sleep, I look at them. I spend a few minutes just gazing at them and which ever pictures feel most strongly so that I can get my headspace right before sleep. I say to myself, and frequently aloud, that I want to experience good dreams, filled with symbolism and divine purpose which I can easily understand and that support my efforts to lead a happier life. I take a few deep breaths, slowly and then I go to sleep. 80% of the time I wake up at some point after a dream and I make a point of setting an immediate intention to experience joy, laughter, friendship or fellowship and good things in general that day. By the time I get out of bed, I'm calm and looking forward to whatever comes up.
I know that sounds involved, but after you do the work to set it up, it really takes less than 3 minutes to set those intentions and fill your brain with images you want MORE of in your life, rather than repeating what you don't want to yourself as you lie there worrying.
I hope that helps!

When you wake up,rub your palms together then look at your palms and repeat,"today is going to be great day" and just go over in your mind how you want to spend your day and also give thanks for all the good things in your life, however small it might be. :)

Hmm. I am so sorry you are going through something like this. It must be really difficult on you. However know that this feeling wont last forever. try to find joy in everyday things. Do something for yourself during your day. Go for a walk, listen to some music or watch a movie. Time heals all woulds after all. All we have to do is believe it. Be strong, follow your dreams and believe that you willl find your happiness. It will happen. Find that something in life that makes you feel anticipation for tommorow. Find something you enjoy and follow it. It can be anything. From working out to writting.

It sounds like something has happened and you should probably talk to someone about it. If that doesn't help, there may be some other things going on that needs to be addressed. It may be something as simple as talking about it, to being prescribed medication to help with continual feelings of sadness.

It's devastating to wake up sad. Something that helps is focusing on the things to look forward to during that given day. There's always something to look forward to...even if its just your morning cup of coffee, it could be a book you like to read, a show on tv, whatever it is just something that makes you get up out of bed. Sometimes i like to start my day will some yoga or journaling to get my thoughts together.
