Bad memories are lessons to some wrong deed or something that didn't happen the way they were supposed to be. Time heals everything, give yourself little time. Memories will fade. As we all make new memories everyday, some good , some bad and some goes unnoticed.

You can't necessarily forget about them, but you can leave them behind. Accept those memories as part of your past; they won't affect your life anymore. If you put your mind to it, you'll eventually accept them as part of your story and move on from them.

Its is very difficult to forget the memories of past but it can be dealt or managed. First accept it by your heart , accept the mistakes ,if made by you and forgive yourself because there is a always a room for improvement. Remember that its is okay to feel down sometimes by memories but don't let it destroy your present. Change your focus towards life, it will change your life. Most important of all ,pick the lessons whatever past had made you learned and move on with life. Life is beautiful ,enjoy every second of it ... .

Forgetting is difficult; Becoming comfortable with the memory may be more likely. Engage with the memory; reflect and ask yourself questions. The first step in "forgetting" will be to come to a place where the memory isn't "attacking you" (ex., you're laying in bed at night, about to fall asleep, and THERE IT IS! The memory comes on full force and gives you a dose of anxiety, regret, or fear). I'm sure there are many way to accomplish this, but the method I've used has always been to dissect and examine the memory (maybe type it out--the details of the memory). Then take a deeper dive: who was affected by the actions in the memory; was there a ripple effect (i.e., what were the consequences); etc. Consider any action that you could presently take that would alleviate any harm or make you feel more comfortable with the situation. Consider the memory or incident a learning opportunity. Now imagine yourself several months down the road sleeping peacefully. Nothing wakes you up. There's no surge of anxiety. Or maybe there is another memory that pops up. Start the process from the beginning. You'll consistently become more comfortable--and dare I say proud--of the you that you become and that actions you take (i.e., the new memories you create for yourself).

you cannot forget your bad memories. forgetting them is not necessarily realistic, since you can’t control your memories. If we could, the world would be not a better place. However, you can learn from them and learn not to dwell on them. Humans were made to remember the negative. it’s how we survived in the BC time periods- we remembered the negative and built our selves off of it. without it, we wouldn’t have known what was helpful and what was hindering our survival. so, in order to get over these bad memories, you must learn to understand and accept them.

We cannot necessarily forget about our past but change the way we look at it. We can either take what happened and learn from it and use it as a strength, or we can let it consume our thoughts. I think to move on we have to acknowledge that it happened, but tomorrow is a new day and nothing is permeant. To know that we are in control and we can choose how we look at things. In all reality to look at it as we are survivors of said memories and that we have made it through the challenging times.

Hi there. Ask a different question in this way: how can you keep yourself remember the bad memories all the time? Figure out how we keep ourselves thinking about the bad experiences, for examples, what did you do to let yourself remember the bad memories? Have you put your focus on those experiences all the time? If it is yes, those memories might have something for you to make yourself feel some kind of emotions. When we try to focus on something, which also means that we might get something from it. As we all knew that the past is past, we cannot change the outcomes of the past, however, what we can do is to change the Now to create the future. As the Now is the past of our future. Therefore, if at the present, we want to forget the past, we need to leave the past behind. And start to create new page for our future from now on.

I don't really think you can really forget bad memories as they are kind of etched into your head but you can try and make good memories that will overcome the bad ones.

If anyone ddiscovered how to that, oh boy, that person would be bigger than any scientist in the world. Some memories will never go away, but, we can make "better/happier" new memories, do more stuff we like, be with people we love, and then, we will have less time to think about the bad things from the past.
