He'll be somewhere happy with another person but time will catch up wit him too. I should know, both of my grandpas left my grandmothers for their mistresses and already had a 2nd family. Right now I don't see or talk to them much, my granny on mom side got abused and never married again.... Please do not let one man control the rest of your life.

Ouch! I know that would hurt, but I'm sure you're strong and time will heal your heart in the future. I've seen a few people go through this and therapy really helped them. This big change was scary but at the same time they got to find themselves and focus on the future. I'm not sure why some guys do that, it's a surprise and just wrong. Maybe he was able to move on because he realized you would both be better off not in the relationship and he had enough time to come to terms with that before breaking things off, now it sounds like you are in need of time to cope and deal with it in your own unique way
