Broke up with my girlfriend two days ago and I've not eaten in two days, can barley sleep, stuck in a depressive state with no where to turn. Need some tips on how to move on and stay productive?

The 'grieving' stage is common after a break up (even if you broke up with them!). Trust me when I say that it will not last long! Try getting into some healthy habits (not too extreme though), just make sure you're exposing yourself to a lot of natural light in the morning and only very dim artificial light in the evenings. Get some over-the-counter sleeping pills if you need them. Drink plenty of water, go for walks, talk to someone you trust (even maybe a listener on here) just to get your thoughts out. vitamin B can help with brain function and I don't know if it was purely placebo effects or a genuine benefit, but they've really helped me in the productivity department. You can't do much apart from self-care really. Just eat good, have showers, change your clothes, brush your teeth, otherwise you'll never feel good enough to be productive.

I can recommend you an youtuber, Anna Akana. A while ago she made a video in which she explains how to handle a break up. Long story short, she tells you how you should find something else to occupy your mind. Which means you should find a healthy coping mechanism: pick up drawing, writing, reading, take care of a plant, a pet. Do anything to help yourself get over the heartbreak.

Breaking up is a form of grief and grieving for someone you’ve lost takes time to process. The key thing here is to make yourself function again. Have a shower, clean yourself up and try to eat a little something. Try something to relieve your stress maybe jogging or a gym membership. Keeping yourself busy will help distract you from your pain and prevent you falling into a long term depressive state. Spending time with understanding family and friends will help you build yourself back up socially until you feel ready to face the world again. Break ups are never easy but you can overcome this

First of all, stop punishing yourself. It's totally her loss. she losses a diamond. So just chill. Nothing will change by not eating anything. you are punishing yourself and on the other side, your girlfriend is enjoying so rather than this start exploring yourself, work on your hobbies and your personality, start going to the gym, make yourself so magnificent that one day she call you back and regret her decision. If possible start dating someone else who is worth having you. Before trying to love other first try to love yourself because you can't love someone when you don't love yourself. So dude get up, bright future with awesome partner is waiting for you.

A few year ago I was in the same position where I was not eating due to a breakup. What really helped me stay productive was starting a new and simple project that was unrelated to my job or schoolwork and it redirected my focus towards creating something. Working out also really helped increase my appetite and it is important to realize that some of the negative feelings in your body are from simply not having nutrients and you will feel better if you force yourself to eat something. These feelings will pass and make sure to reach out to friends or other support systems if you continue to not feel better.

I totally understand how you feel. I went through a breakup myself two years ago. It took a while for me to heal. I want to remind you that you are not alone. I want to remind you that there are listeners here more than willing to talk to you. Also, please take of yourself. Your body needs to eat, and sleep. Watch a movie, learn a new hobby, read a book. Listen to music, and plan your day with an agenda so you can be productive. I know it may seem hard now, but it will get better in time.
