It depends! Are you thinking of hitting something like a pillow, or like a person?
Exercise in general is a great way to manage anxiety and tackle that fight/flight response that we go into when we panic. Whether it's running, cycling, swimming or things like boxing and tai bo - anything that can get the heart racing is going to help manage anxiety.
Obviously though, if you are causing other people harm (like hitting another person) or yourself (like hitting a wall), then that's not a very healthy way of coping and it's worth finding better ways to help.

it might help, but it would not be good for you. there are so many more healthier alternatives to helping anxiety than hitting something. you could take deep breathes, color in an adult coloring book, write your emotions down, do any hobby that would distract you. i always find that doing those hobbies help. hot baths help. drinking a cup of hot chamomile tea helps calm the nerves. and for me personally, because i’m a musician. i sing when i get super anxious. or i write songs. it puts those emotions in to a productive format and makes me feel better at the same time.

As long as you are being safe, yes it can! I took up martial arts and I enjoy punching/kicking out my emotions. Main thing you need to remember is not to hurt anyone. Yes hitting/punching/kicking/etc is great for letting out emotions, but not on another person (unless its for sparring or self defense) is not okay since you could hurt them, enough to send them to a hospital.
When you are doing hits, remember to wear hand protection, like hand wraps and/or boxing gloves. It really helps to have hand protection, since you are less likely to develop bruising and other injuries.

Hi! I also have anxiety. So, I am talking from my experience.
I noticed, that when I go to workout at the gym, it helps me to feel better. It might help you too, maybe you should try to exercise or learn to punch a punching bag(but with a specialist, so you wouldn’t hurt yourself) could help you :)
Any physical activity can take your mind off worrying about things, increase endorphins, makes you healthier and relieves anxiety. Also, you could try diaphragm breathing technique, it helps to relax and reduce anxiety.
I hope I helped you and please dont hit anyone 😅

The Facebook "Seen" message gives me a lot of anxiety! When I see that the person has "seen" the message, but does not reply, I start thinking about all the possible reasons why they would 'ignore' me... Does anyone else feel this? If so, how do you cope?
