A combination of different things can contribute to an individual developing an anxiety disorder. Genetics can play a role, a very stressful or traumatic event (particularly one that lasts an extended period of time and/or results in someone getting physically harmed), etc. Anxiety is the most common mental health disorder that is diagnosed, and can be managed with medication, cognitive behavioral therapy, and counseling.

There are many reasons for people developing anxiety. There has always been a massive ongoing debate about nature vs nurture or biological vs social causes. But I would say do not get to hing up in the reasons but instead focus on how to deal with the anxiety and find coping skills. Anxiety doesn't have to be a bad and stigmatised thing right? I will leave you with my favourite quote, never forget this - its a bad day, week, month or year but it is not a bad life - things will get better! Have a great day for me! :)
