There is nothing wrong with you. People are inherently afraid of been ignored, hurt, embarrassed and even forgotten. In a world where everyone is trying to connect it can be a scary thing to go outside and interact with life. You have to remember though that the only way to improve... the only way to evolve, is by experience. Sometimes your experiences will be good and sometimes they will be bad but you must always try to learn from them.... The world is a scary place sometimes but your imagination can conjure up far worse fears than anything you may confront. And if you do come face to face with your worst imagined fears... then don't turn away from the experience. Learn from it... and you will always be ready for what comes next.

I learned to think that my opinion will always be labelled as wrong and that I'll be critisized even for my thoughts. That's why I began to hide my own opinions because I thought nobody would listen anyway. But this way of thinking made me think badly about myself and I nearly stopped trusting people at all. It took me a long time to realize that my opinions aren't that bad and that I have the right to explain my thoughts to other people, and I still tend to be nervous when I decide to talk about my opinion.

Nothing is wrong with you and you should never think that. They're called irrational fears for a reason; they often stem from past experiences and while irrational, they're often understandable. You may benefit from things such as group therapy and seeing a counsellor. Having those around you who also understand your problems is a huge relief; to simply know you're not alone in all this and I can assure you, you're most definitely not alone when it comes to irrational fears.

From my personal experiences it wasn't what was wrong with me, it was what was wrong with the way I was thinking. Once I turned to positive thinking my fears with talking to other people slowly disintegrated.

You seem to have social anxiety. Although I am not an expert on social anxiety, it sounds similar to some cases of social anxiety that I have heard of.
