Anxiety is something can be good or bad, just like fear. An example of good anxiety is that you are getting anxious about not studying early for a test. An example of bad anxiety is overthinking about a situation that happened several years ago and you have no control over that situation.

I used to suffer from an anxiety disorder for about 15 years. After spending countless hours of online research, going to specialists, online discussions & various medications I finally found great relief. I've written some tips for anxiety sufferers below:
1. Take Valerian supplements. It is one of the best supplements for anxiety because it increases the availability of GABA in the brain. Valerian also helps with insomnia and is known to have very few side effects.
2. Follow every step in the video & guide at http://drhealthhelp.com/anxiety to tackle the root of anxiety in a NATURAL way via the ’60 ss’. This is very important!
3. Take up one of the following: tai chi, yoga or meditation (any other sport will also work). Not only will it boost serotonin in the brain through exercise but it will improve mental state due to offering yourself a distraction. While you are distracted for long periods of time your brain will even forget anxiety exists and so its important to do this for as long periods as possible.
Try those three steps and hopefully you will get as much luck with getting rid of your anxiety as i did. Obviously regular exercise, certain diets (drink camomile tea) & losing weight etc may have a temporary effect but you should try tackle the root cause of anxiety, and remain strong minded about it as you don’t have to suffer forever. Good luck

Anxiety is not something that can be shaken off, brushed off, turned off or ignored, because by definition it is an excessive amount of worry or dread. Having said that, proper breathing really can help reduce some of the physical symptoms associated with it. Inhale through the nose counting to 4, hold for 2; exhale through pursed lips counting to 4, hold for 2. Rinse, lather, repeat. You will see a reduction in symptoms if you dedicate a solid 5 minutes or so to breathing properly when you feel anxiety.

Anxiety is a learned behavior from past threats, so it's only reasonable to consider the reduction of anxiety as also a learned behavior. You need to process your anxiety rationally, is there really a threat? Picture yourself in an everyday scenario from the safety of your home that makes you feel anxious. Analyse that, why are you anxious, is there a threat? Learn to reassess situations.

The word anxiety can be used to describe worry, unease, apprehension relating to an event or situation. We all experience it in some measure. When we can't shake it off and it becomes excessive and possibly accompanied by other behaviors that are compulsive or if panic attacks occur then anxiety could be a nervous disorder. There are tools and resources to help with anxiety that are applicable regardless if you are experiencing a situational reaction or a nervous disorder.

It's not easy to just make anxiety go away. Try doing things that calm you down, distress you, and make you happy. Go somewhere that makes you happy. Do things that help clear your head. (Bike ride, look out at the ocean, read a book, write, etc.) These are all things that help make me calm and happy. Tell yourself that it's going to be okay. When you feel anxious, think of positive things. Try breathing exercises and see if that helps as well. Don't blame yourself for feeling anxious, and don't beat yourself up over not being able to shake it off. You got this!
