Sometimes I find that it is more productive to construct my thoughts clearly before talking to someone I am close to when I need help. I don't always trust the people close to me to handle me when I feel extreme emotions. I often get my thoughts together by writing when I am angry because it lets me get a lot of thoughts out at once. When I am sad, I like to talk to someone anonymously on 7 cups. This makes me feel less alone. When I am very excited, I like to meditate or take a few deep breaths to center myself. Taking the time to collect myself has saved me from a lot of pain. Other people in my life are more able to help me when I am calm and collected enough to speak clearly and listen to their responses. I also seem to be more likely to take the advice given to me when I am calm because I am less anxious and more trusting.

The Facebook "Seen" message gives me a lot of anxiety! When I see that the person has "seen" the message, but does not reply, I start thinking about all the possible reasons why they would 'ignore' me... Does anyone else feel this? If so, how do you cope?
