Take a deep breath and breath in for 8, breath out for 8. Then list 5 things you can see near you, 4 things you can touch near you, 3 things you hear around you, 2 things you can smell around you, and 1 thing you can taste. What does your mouth taste like at the moment. This strategy helped me and is a common one, and you can get your mind off of your anxiety for a while.

Distractions are different for everyone - some people find watching videos on YouTube a good distraction, others find chatting with a friend to work for them. Remember that your mind has to be off of the anxious thoughts for at /least/ four minutes before your body stops feeling anxious. Our biochemical bodies can't match the speed of our bioelectrical brains!
