There are many ways, but I will name just a few. Try to find what works for you.
This sounds very cliche, but breathing. A good breathing technique can work wonders. It is important that you inhale longer than you exhale, almost like you are holding your breath. This helps your body naturally slow down.
Grounding. Grounding is a technique that lets you come back to the presence when your anxiety is taking over. There are many ways. One is the 5-4-3-2-1. Each corresponds with a sense. Name 5 things you see. 4 things you feel (take time and really feel them). 3 things you hear. 2 things you smell (you can spray perfume or something if you like). And 1 thing you taste. Say it out loud. It sounds silly, but it can work.
Exercise can almost "distract" your body for anxiety and release endorphins which make you feel good.
Therapy is another alternative. It takes work, but a therapist can give you many more ways to deal with the symptoms.

The Facebook "Seen" message gives me a lot of anxiety! When I see that the person has "seen" the message, but does not reply, I start thinking about all the possible reasons why they would 'ignore' me... Does anyone else feel this? If so, how do you cope?
