I experience this all the time. Try taking a bath or being with people that make you calm. Maybe get a new hobby (a sport, cooking class, art classes.) that should take your mind off things.

Meditation is a way. take 10 deep breaths. after that close your eyes and focus of your normal breathing. watch the breaths going inside and going out. do it for 15 minutes.

Deep breathing is very helpful for me. I breath in for 3 counts (count to three) and then you hold your breath for 3 counts (count to three) and then you breath out for 6 counts (count to six). Hope this helps!
