Begin by focussing on taking deep breaths.
Then bring the 4-7-8 technique to them. Breath in for 4 second, hold it in for 7 seconds and then exhale with lips pursed for 8 seconds.
Now reassure yourself that these are just emotions and that they will pass.
Continue doing this breathing exercise and focusing on it until you begin to feel better.
Another technique you can try is taking deep breaths in and out and imaging a balloon inflating and deflating in your stomach as you do this. Focus on the balloon inflating and the image of it in your head. s
