Uncertainty is scary. Not having plans for your future can definitely make you feel anxious. The idea of jumping into something head first with no safety net is one of the most stressful things someone can do, especially if you are someone who thrives in structure. If having plans gives you comfort, and you can't make a big plan that includes everything, try making little plans. Small steps along the way so you don't feel so lost in the abyss of the unknown. Graduating but don't have any plans for college yet? Plan to apply, and plan the process of moving if that's what you will have to do. That way, even though you don't have a full plan set in stone, you will have some semblance of a path to follow so there are less "well what do I do now?" moments.

yes. at least until you learn to get away from your mind, when you realize there's always a plan in place, when you realize that knowing what you want is the greatest plan, or the greatest part of the plan, then the anxiety comes down. but, until then, no plan is usually equated with "not safe", "unknown" and we all have our typical reaction to this state, when it's not safe, or too unknown. but in general, anxiety will be there. the best way is to focus on what you want. this focus, will generate the plan, from within yourself. and if you don't know what you want, then no problem. focus on the wanting, focus on finding the What, focus on finding what you want. this focus will attract the What. Always keep your wanting and your wants in the foreground. that's safest way to go about (as i see it)

yes! I definitely feel anxious when I don't have plans because then I know I will either 1.sit around and be lazy or 2. have to complete the things on my to do list. If I sit around and be lazy, I probably will have a hard time going to sleep that night knowing I haven't done anything all day. Completing stuff on my to do list always makes me anxious because they are challenging to do which is why I haven't done them yet. You may feel anxious for one of these reasons or maybe because you feel like if you don't have plans then people are doing stuff without you.
