I’m trying to plan for the future, but when i do all I can think about is what will go wrong. This creates hurtful and distressing inner dialogue. What should I do?

Try focusing on the things that you enjoy. Sometimes thinking about the future can make it seem scarier because it seems so far away, but focusing on the things that you enjoy can help make it feel a bit less scary. Sharing your worries with people close to you like friends and family can also help because they might be feeling the same way as you. It is very normal to feel worried about the future, but doing the things you enjoy now and spending time with people you care about are great ways to feel more grounded and to quiet the inner dialogue a bit.

Telll the inner dialogue to go away, personify it as a cartoon character, maybe pretend it is on a tv and switch it off, or just say to yourself that the intensity of what your feeling is not right and you need to look after yourself better, maybe reward yourself by going to a cafe and having a cup of tea and a cake then you will forget about your sadness for a bit.
Another thing you could do is write it all down or maybe even keep a daily journal then you can read it back to yourself and it might seem more trivial to you and less intense and worrying.

The first thing you should know is that planning for something you cannot see is hard. You have to keep an open mind when it comes to anything. That is life! Noone's life goes the way they think it will in their head. What you can plan for is how you will adapt to whatever comes your way! That way, you will be ready to take on anything that you face. Once you think positive thoughts about your future, you will begin to speak that as well. There is power in your thoughts. You must believe that your future will be bright and know that anything is possible! When things go wrong, it is only a lesson, not a loss! It will make you stronger in the end!

The Facebook "Seen" message gives me a lot of anxiety! When I see that the person has "seen" the message, but does not reply, I start thinking about all the possible reasons why they would 'ignore' me... Does anyone else feel this? If so, how do you cope?
