I keep myself from thinking too much about my anxiety by keeping my mouth and ears busy! Relaxing music, and chewing gum/sucking on candy that you like can really be a big help. Teas and mint can also really help relax you. MAybe take a bath, or curl up with a good book. The way to keep yourself from not thinking about your anxiety is to take time yourself to relax, or to have a lot of fun with people you know and love, or even by yourself! Hope this helps. :)

Remember to think about life day by day and not look into the future. Once you realize you can help yourself in the short term, it'll permanently affect you in the long term. Do small things like meditation or think of your favorite food every time you feel anxious and over time you will grow accustomed to these habits.

Find something to focus on that isn't emotionally charged. Something soothing and simple, such as watching cat videos on YouTube, reading, or lying down for a few minutes. Another option is to try to narrow down all your anxieties to something small, like the face of a clock on a watch. Imagine that your anxieties are that small, and with each passing second they just tick away with time.

I have a couple hobbies, like writing, reading, and gaming. But I also do take medication, it does help. If I'm in a bad situation, I sit down in a comfortable position, and use some breathing techniques that I know. Then if I'm alone, I'll use something like this app. Or if I'm with someone, I'll just hug them and cry as much as I need to. It's good to cry sometimes. Then after I'm better, I go to sleep, or relax and play some games.

Try thinking of all the things that make you feel light, happy, relaxed or connected. Make a list of those situations / activities. It can be anything, a hobby, some sport you’re enjoying, a favourite book or movie, a place you like to visit. When your thoughts start revolving around anxiety, try shifting them to positive experiences you’ve had, or just start doing whatever makes you feel calm and in control. Over time, your confidence will grow and you will have a repository of lived through situations that have made you empowered rather than at mercy of your anxiety.
