First of all, know that it is a very valid fear. With everything going on, it’s understandable that you are worried. It can be helpful to stay informed. Follow what’s happening, but don’t get too caught up in it. It can be important to be aware of the facts. but that doesn’t mean you have to be reading or checking the news about it every second. Doing that can cause even more anxiety and fear, which is not helpful. Moving on, make sure that your information sources are reliable. Cdc.gov is a great source for truthful information. If you hear information from a different source, it can be useful to fact check it to prevent unnecessary worry from misinformation. One huge step is take the necessary, recommended precautions. The cdc recommends to wash your hands often, avoid close contact with others (practice social distancing) staying home if you are sick unless you’re going to a doctor, cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, and some other very useful tips. Finally, know that you aren’t alone. People everywhere in the world are going through this right now. It is not an individual struggle, it’s a community struggle. And if you find yourself struggling too much, talk with someone. Whether it’s friend, family member, doctor, therapist, or anyone, it can be helpful to talk about your worries to someone who will not add to your fears., but instead can be there for you. You aren’t alone.

You can wash your hands more then you usually do and not go outside as much. You can also avoid talking to people face to face and if you start to feel lonely either call them or video chat or text. You can not listen to the news as much because listening to the news will just make you more anxious. Just follow the guide lines your county has put out for you. You can also distract yourself when you find yourself getting to deep in thought. You can go play on the computer or watch tv or play with a pet. You can even just go do work your teacher assigned you or clean your room. But if you have to go outside you can stand 6 feet away from people if possible.

It has really been a tough few months. The pandemic, so many deaths, protests, forest fires, all this is very overwhelming. It's okay to worry about getting infected, this is a stage we have all been through. Though it's important to take precautionary measures, keep your mind engaged in other activities, even if you think they aren't productive. Try meditation, yoga, exercising, dancing, listen to calm soothing music and read novels. Keep this consistent. It takes minimum 18 days to form a habit. Take things slowly, one step at a time. And create a possibility. Hope everything works out for you ðŸ˜.

The Facebook "Seen" message gives me a lot of anxiety! When I see that the person has "seen" the message, but does not reply, I start thinking about all the possible reasons why they would 'ignore' me... Does anyone else feel this? If so, how do you cope?
