Anxiety can be made up of many feelings, and is never just one emotion. Anxiety is is a sense of foreboding that doesn't tend to pass, and you often can't shake it at all. Anxiety can sometimes consist of an intense fear of situations triggered by social gatherings, appointments, crowds, and can even be caused be previous experiences. When put into these situations, the sufferer feels an intense panic, often hyperventilating and suffering an intense fear of dying. Not everyone knows they have anxiety until it is spoken about.

If you find yourself feeling consistently anxious for more than 2 weeks at a time, and if that feeling is disrupting your work, studies, or social life, then it is likely you have anxiety. Talk to someone you trust or seek professional guidance, and they can help you to self-assess just what kind of anxiety is affecting you, and how best to address it.

This is a very personal question. Feel anxiety is a natural state that everyone experience at some point throughout their live however if you feel anxious frequently or there are situations in which you consistently feel anxious, it is possible that you are experiencing a higher level of anxiety than others. In clinical terms, anxiety is often defined in terms of how it impacts on your level of functioning. For example, if you were experiencing levels of anxiety that impacted on multiple areas of your life e.g. social, family, work etc, it would be a good idea to seek options to deal with this.

If you think that you have anxiety try seeing a professional. At work, there may be some resources and if you are in school there are definitely councilors. The one suggestion I have is to get off of web.md and everything because you cannot self diagnose. It is really dangerous to do so because you aren't a trained professional. I hope this helps!

Anxiety is a mind/body experience that all people experience differently and with varying intensity. Usually our thoughts will race and drive us to make decisions that we would normally not make if we were not having anxiety.
