Finding yourself can be daunting, especially when you don't know where to start. I suggest making a list. No, not a to-do list, but a simple list that involves some thinking. I call the list: "Times when I was the happiest". Really think back on times that you were truly happy. There is a direct connection between true happiness and ones self. Was it when you first held your little nephew after he was born? Maybe it was when you acted in your first high school play? Or that time you spent all saturday in your sweat pants, eating cereal while watching reruns of Sponge Bob? Whatever those moments were for you, write them down. Make this list as BIG as you can! This next part is the most important of them all. Indulge in what once made you happy. If you find along the way that you don't enjoy one or two of the things you use to, that's okay. That is part of the process of finding you again. Learning about what you like, what you don't and having fun doing so. And realize that this is a journey. It won't happen overnight. But make it fun. Enjoy the journey. You are worth it.

Try to remember a time in your life when you were completely you. When you weren't thinking about pleasing others and weren't trying to be something you're not. When your entire being was thrown and focused into something else, without any selfishness. That's who you are. Experience new things, see what you like and what you don't. Evaluate your characteristics, and the things you've done and hope to do.
