The reason why you hurt so much is because you have invested a lot into this relationship, sometimes even if the first signs are there we continue to dedicate our time and mood into this in the hope of 'fixing' the situation. Thus, when you have given so much, you relate a lot of places, objects, memories with the person regardless of their mean actions. They're just part of your life.
