Acceptance is key to helping to deal with social anxiety. knowing that you have control over your own actions and not those of others helps to view social interaction in a different light. Being true to yourself and recognizing who you are as a person will help you be accepting of yourself and worry less about what others think. If you come to terms with who you are as a person, negative energy from others will be less impactful if you can see good things in yourself. Reflection and love from within will can strengthen your confidence. If you love yourself, other opinions may not matter as much.

For me, overcoming social anxiety was less about unlearning it but more about learning how to be more confident in myself. A lot of social anxiety, I think, comes from being scared and super self-conscious. For me, I fear that people might not like me when I hang out with them or they might think that I'm weird. To be more confident in myself, I try to surround myself with people that make me happy. When meeting new people, I try to just be myself. The more I think about not being awkward, the more awkward I'll become. As for anxiety as a whole, it's okay to be anxious. To some extent, everyone gets nervous about something, and you might just feel more anxious than others. But what I've learned is that my biggest critic is myself. Telling myself that I am okay and paying more attention to the environment around me rather than myself, I am able to be my natural self. Being authentic, for me, allows me to connect with people better.
