I just quit and I used vaping, then switched to Zonnic gum (found at any gas station), then eventually waned off of it.

A lot of times it helps to just carry an unlit cigarette around in your mouth for a long period of time.

it feels good to have you here on 7 cups of tea. Yes, you can quit smoking by engaging yourself in other fruitful activities and trying to take help from a therapist regarding it.

Maybe try nicotine gum, and try to quit a little at a time, until you can stand to not smoke at all.

I used to smoke 20 a day at 17 years old and I recently have stopped for a month now. The best way is to throw your cigarettes away, or give them away to somebody you know won’t give them back. Make sure you tell yourself no each time and when you crave just keep holding it off till you’re on a repeat pattern of holding off a cigarette. I read Allen Carr’s book about smoking, look it up, some people have read it and it has stopped them from smoking. Have you been to a local clinic to help? I did and it helped tremendously. Also, take the money you would spend on smoking and treat yourself to something nice! That worked for me, hopefully it does for you.

I tried to quit smoking for a number of times, but every time I was tempted, had a drink and smoked "just one". Then within a week I was smoking again. A key thing to quit smoking was to hang out with more non-smokers. It sounds complicated but I tried to avoid things like the "cigarette break" at work, and have lunch with them later instead. Also I felt like focusing too hard on that was difficult, so I tried to just skip that moment when I craved a cigarette, which really is quite short. So every time I wanted a cigarette I told myself "not now, in 5 minutes". I still keep a pack of cigarettes in my drawer, but haven't touched it in months.
