Quitting smoking is not easy. Smokers need that external stimulation through smoking, that drives them. Meditation helps, one should relax their inner self, when in desperate need of a cigarette. And one should be strong, it's simple, you've to simply stop buying cigarettes for you, lower the rate gradually, start from today. I've got benefited through meditation. Though I'm not completely off cigarettes, my smoking rate has gone down significantly. Looking forward to quit it eventually. Thanks for reading, hope it helps.

I have personally tried hypnotherapy, the patch and e-cigarettes. All have worked just fine, but I have made the decision in the past to resume smoking, so while those methods work, they only work if you don't smoke again!

Try 10 minutes of mindful meditation to clear your head whenever you have a cigarette craving. This might satisfy the craving altogether by giving you a healthy break.

Will power, will power, will power. I've tried replacing my habit (didn't work) and trying to do other activities in stead of smoking - like washing dishes, making dough for bread etc etc. It's difficult, but do what works for you. Some people make spread sheets which shows them all the money they've saved from quitting!

My boyfriend is a smoker. He smokes both cigarettes and weed. He just has his mind wrapped around the fact that he has to have when he really doesn't. He smoked around me so much to the point where I started doing it, but it never became a habit to me it was always a once in a blue moon type of thing for me. I do wish that he would stop smoking. He's also been smoking since he was in his early-mid teens so it's not going to take long for him to start having issues from smoking. He has bronchitis also so that makes it even worse. I would recommend maybe staying away from other's that tend to bring these products around you, nicotine patch, or nicotine gum. It may not work for you, but it's worth a try. I've never tried these methods because I'm not big on smoking, but it's what I would try if I was. Also think about the consequences when it comes to smoking. You can get cancer, cause damage to your teeth and gums; you can even loose your teeth. Smoking can also affect your skin, heart, sometimes you may even have to amputate certain parts of the body such as legs, fingers and toes. If you're ok with losing these things then keep smoking your life away if not rethink and quit. You CAN do it.

Stopping all at once can be difficult. Perhaps slowly and setting small goals each day can be very effective. Maybe start out with one less cigarette a day, or week, or whatever is good for you. Remind yourself you can do it.

It really depends on you as a person; how much you can handle and how your self-control is. Some people have stated that seeing a counsellor who passes them onto CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) helps a lot. Some have stated that going to group therapy helps. Others have stated that using e-cigarettes helps them on their way to stop smoking and is healthier for you as it's pure nicotine meaning that you don't have tar build-up in your lungs, you're not causing second-hand smoke for the people around you and it also means that you, your house and your clothes won't reek of smoke so it's a start to a slow recovery which any addiction is. Set yourself realistic goals otherwise you'll give up and end up going round in circles. I would suggest group therapy as it will help you to speak with others in the same situation as yourself and help you not feel so alone with this addiction. They can also give you suggestions based on their own experiences and support you throughout your ordeal without judgement. Hope this helps.

Think of other alternatives like eating treats/foods you like when you crave. Try to distract yourself. Try to lessen sticks per week, then days. Don't stop suddenly, do it gradually. Reward yourself when you see some progress. I hope it works for you too.
