Bringing someone with me to drop of my application helped give me the courage to go through with it, and getting a call back can increase one's confidence. Self-employment is also another really good option that can allow you to use your skills to work without having to go through the application and interview process.

You can get a job even when social anxiety prevents you from it by when they ask you for an in person interview asking and see if they have a phone interview option and another one is seeing if someone you know can represent you during an interview.

I also used to have the same issue... this is what I would do. Take a minute, take in deep breaths and try to focus on your breathing. Then think what could be the best case scenario that may happen if you did apply for a job you're interested in, and think about the worst case scenario. As long as you try there's always a chance you can succeed. Believe in yourself, you are far more amazing and wonderful than you think you are, you have the ability to do so much, you are smart and you can do this!

I went through the same thing (and still do). One thing i try to remember is that I’m human and this is a normal human emotion, therefore, I’m not alone. This takes to my next thought, if I’m not alone, then no one is perfect. I then think about what I have learned. I remind myself what I’m capable of (imperfection does not mean capable and progress is better that perfection in an imperfect world [perfections too subjective anyway]). After remembering what I’m capable of, i remind myself of my goal and why i learned these things/ acquired this knowledge. Lastly, remain professional yet personable (you’re the person so NEVER lose you're personality. You bring you. Period.). Lastly, i apply knowing everting I’ve just though about. You’re more powerful and more capable than you think. I can promise you that.

The Facebook "Seen" message gives me a lot of anxiety! When I see that the person has "seen" the message, but does not reply, I start thinking about all the possible reasons why they would 'ignore' me... Does anyone else feel this? If so, how do you cope?
