Everything in my life is messed up. Motivation works temporarily and I'm not suicidal but feel it's pointless to live like this. What should I do to feel hopeful?

First, life is short and we all meant to die anyway. But we are here with a purpose. You have to search for your inspiration and way of life. We all have one

Feel hopeful because things can get better. Things can always get better. And if your lacking motivation to live, find pleasure in the little things. Appreciate the beauty of flowers and the happiness in laughter. You can't experience those if you aren't here. Look for beauty in the pavement you walk on top of, and the sky you walk under. Seek love in the embrace of your family and in the smiles of lovers. Their are so many things you need to be here for, and that you won't want to miss out on.

When things go wrong, it's easy to forget everything good that has happened to us and we may feel hopeless. I suggest taking a moment, maybe a day to take a step back and reflect on life. Going on a walk is always helpful to make us realize that there is more to the world than the bubbles we live in sometimes. We can use this time to remember the good times we had, and also to plan more things we want to do. Focusing on our future can be encouraging. Even if some don't turn out the way we expect, the experience we gain is invaluable! In the end, life is not about getting it always right, but about trying and learning.

Honestly this was tough for me too but the best way for me to feel hopeful is to stop trying to feel hopeful~ It feels useless when you do something to feel hopeful and it doesnt work so just do what makes you happy.

Become disciplined. Work out a schedule. Work out a timeline and make things progress the way you want it to.
Motivation is great and can be a catalyst to help you produce and gain the things you want.
Discipline is to sustain the behavior or practice because you know its meaningful and worthwhile.
I suppose my answer is, understand that Motivation may be temporary, but Discipline is good for the long term. And I suppose this can give you hope knowing that you can improve things by being hopeful and genuinely believing that you're actions will push you in the right direction :)

oh! that is one terrible spot to be in, but it's a spot on the map and we all have to take the circuit. It's best if you force yourself to move one and carry on, learn from the past and let go, prepare in the present, make your own schedules, stop doing things that make you feel guilty and aim for the future :)

I can relate to the feeling... I would suggest to start working on a very small bit at a time... regaining hope and feeling successful with a first step of undoing the mess to create something that corresponds more to our wishes might give the energy to continue with other goals in other domains. Seeking support for a start ight be the first step itself

I would suggest making an appointment with a doctor to be referred to a therapist. Sometimes changing thought habits can change our lives.

The Facebook "Seen" message gives me a lot of anxiety! When I see that the person has "seen" the message, but does not reply, I start thinking about all the possible reasons why they would 'ignore' me... Does anyone else feel this? If so, how do you cope?
