Everything in my life is messed up. Motivation works temporarily and I'm not suicidal but feel it's pointless to live like this. What should I do to feel hopeful?

For me it helps a bit if I live day by day. I ask myself "what do I what to accomplish today?". Doing this, makes everything more structured n less overwhelming. Also being around friends and talking to them helps.

Learn something new! Take up a new hobby/class that you may have an interest in. I have found that having something that has a routine (such as a class) helps keep me hopeful and looking forward to moving on!

Keep your faith and remember that everything happens for a reason! Even though you may feel hurt, afraid, or hopeless, know that bad things happen for a reason. Struggles are what make you strong and wise! Hang in there and just know that you have a lot of people who care and love you very much! Set yourself goals and plans to get to where you want to be in life :)

A genie has arrived and you can make 3 wishes. What are they? Pick one of the 3 wishes and visualize it coming true. How does that feel? What steps can you make to feel that way right now?

I feel you. Sometimes I wonder why on earth I keep trying because my life seems like it's always such a mess. I've started to learn though that maybe, if you're out living life, it's just not as easy and clean as we want it to be. I've learned to meditate and keep a "thankful" diary where I record good things that happen to me. It's nice to pull out when I'm feeling overwhelmed so I can look at all the positive things that happen around me every day even when I feel out of sorts.

You may be closer to the answers than you think, even while right in the middle of the chaos that may be your life. Stop and listen. Go to a place where you can sit in solitude and connect with your soul. Your soul is your partner forever and it needs attention; it will give you back as much as you give it. Sit under a tree, or on a bench in a busy city, or simply at a window, and breathe. Deeply. Deep in your soul is a knowing of what your purpose may be. Stop and listen to it. Find peace looking up at the sky, or out at passersby, or sitting in a park.
You will realize that it’s a relief to take a break from thinking about your chaotic situation—and it’s productive. Stopping to calm your mind and connect with your body and soul is actually doing something!

Getting out and doing things with friends and family can benefit our attitudes towards the world and life in general a lot. Spend time with those who care about you and those who you care about. If you feel that you could benefit from getting professional help, that is also a conversation which you should have with your parents.
