Anxiety can absolutely cause someone to feel depressed. You get so built up and anxious about something that you start to think of the negative outcomes. Whatever you're anxious about you'll start to wonder what will happen if your negative view will happen. You then start to spiral and get yourself so caught up in this negative, future outcome that soon enough you become depressed because you are now stuck wondering what you will do once this negative outcome does happen. You then lead yourself to believe you're worthless since you can't overcome your anxiety and that you just can't achieve anything.
