Breathing is the thing I find most effective, just below meditation and just plain old talking it out. Sometimes I escape whether it be I'm a book or my own head but that's not really a solution.

Drinking tea, acupressure points and taking a small break (such as taking a walk, bath or writing everything on your mind onto paper).

Anxiety is a battle within oneselves. I do think that to deal with it, it's also according on how severe a person is experiencing the anxiety itself. Personally, i try to cope with anxiety by trying to distract myself with movies, books or eating comfort foods. Finding a hobby is also a great distraction and good way to spent time. When nothing works, then sleeping is also a good way to calm ourselves. Some people use aromatheraphy to calm themselves as it has a soothing effect on them. It takes time but I believe that everyone can eventually overcome this.

I would always suggest talking with your doctor first to make sure what is right for you. Some things to try at home are limiting what causes you unnecessary stress and calming exercises such as meditation, music therapy, and working on breathing techniques to help you better get a hold during an anxiety or panic attack. Setting an amount of time per day to just relax and be by yourself - even if it is only fifteen to thirty minutes - might also help reduce your anxiety. Try not to take on too much so you are not overwhelmed as well.

Yes. If you're having a panic attack try to identify random things in the room. "there's a lamp" "there's the tv". it helps to distract you. If you're finding a situation too stressful or triggering don't be afraid to take a break. Don't be afraid to acknowledge that you're struggling. Contact friends and family and let them know what you're going through. listen to calming music, drink herbal teas such as camomile. Sometimes even the act of smiling tricks your brain into thinking its a bit more relaxed. or you could wear something like a rubber band around your wrist to snap or fiddle with when you're getting anxious.
