Plan ahead, have a time to wind down and allow your body to rest. Sometimes we are sleeping but our minds are still roaming. Allow that extra time to get everything off of your mind.
You should turn off all of your electronics, go to sleep early. Moreover, it would help if you did something that calms you down before going to bed, but at the same time tires you, for example reading a book.
I find it easier to sleep and sleep well if I relax before I fall asleep, I normally get more rest out of my sleeping time.
How you can get the most out of your time to get a good nights sleep is to do everything you need to do earlier in the day. For example that homework is do tomorrow it is best you do it before it is too close to bedtime.

eliminate things that are unnecessary. Write a list of what you do in a day and try to see what purpose each activity has, how it helps you achieve your goals. Think about how much time you spend on entertainment (movies, video games, browsing the internet, etc.), if at all. good luck :)
Go to bed early, with a book (preferably). The main reason of less sleep is waking up late at night doing things that could be done anytime else. Going bed early will help getting into sleep steadily and slowly and will also give you enough sleep needed for the energy needed the next day.
After suffering from insomnia for a while, I found out that there are some sleep exercises that work very well! For instance, I'll drink a hot tea before bed and if I feel like I can't sleep, I'll try some laying down meditation to relax my body and my thoughts.

One of the ways you can get the most out of your sleep is putting your phone away 15-30 minutes before you fall asleep. this will help you unwind from the social media world and give you some time to really relax. another way is maybe you could try some meditation because for most people it helps calm you down. you could also try some breathing techniques and listening to peaceful noises like waves crashing while trying to fall asleep. another thing was if you can’t fall asleep because you are overthinking you could try writing your thoughts down in in a journal so they are able to be somewhere besides your head.
