It is possible to die if you are cutting and loose too much blood, or if your wounds get infected, which can seriously jeopardize one's health.

Yes it is possible you could die from self harming. If you cut too deep or a vein/artery it could mean a threat to your life.
Self-harm by definition is causing injury to yourself without the intention of trying to end your life. Any injury to yourself however, can cause more harm than initially intended, and there is the possibility that a person could unintentionally kill themselves by self-harming.
Self-harm is really a very broad term, which encompasses a number of actions, and behaviors. In short though, yes one can die from self-harm. However, there are many ways to prevent this tragedy from happening. With self-harm that involves a physical component. We have to remember that even if we are not intending to cause serious damage, or death. It is always a possibility with even very minor injuries. The likelihood is, of course, usually small. Still, it is a possibility, so we need to be as careful as possible.
Typically, if I had a patient coming to me, that was self-harming in this way, such as cutting. I would first begin to try and address the root cause of the behavior. However, I would also give them some wound care and first aid suggestions on how better to care for the cuts. Of course self-harm is an unhealthy behavior, but it is still a coping mechanism. It is very, very unlikely that the person would be able to stop after one visit. This is why it is important to make sure that they know how to properly care for the wounds, and how to avoid possible infections or other issues associated with this type of behavior.

Yes, if you go too deep, you can die. It is uncommon, but that is why it is so important for you to get help and recover from self harm. There are many other ways to deal/cope with emotions and problems.
Inevitably, self-harm can kill you. I mean, sometimes we think that having a drink here and there won't do anything, but if we drink on an everyday basis, it is very likely we are damaging our liver or internal organs to the point where they can not be fixed. I feel as though no matter the method of self-harm, sooner or later, it will inevitably lead to death, even if it is by accident. Don't take chances, darling! If you are self-harming, please do take the time to seek help.

Yes. It may sounds crazy or like it would never happen to you but it totally could. If you happen to cut too deep you could hit a vain.
If you cut yourself to deep you can cause a nasty bleed which can kill you. That is why thoughts of self harm are considered an emergency in the medical world. If you ever feel unsafe you should call emergency services and they will take you seriously.
Yes you can. If there's one time you cut to deep or at the wrong place, you can indeed die from self-harm. So please don't do it.
Yes. If you cut too deep, you could hit an artery or a vein. You could also become infected from cutting or burning.

Yes. Cutting too much will result in blood loss, and if you lose too much blood you may pass out or even die.
That ultimately depends on what kind of self harm you're doing and what precautions you're taking, but yes, you can die from self harm. If you feel you are at risk I highly recommend speaking to someone about it, such as a therapist or a close friend who can help you stop.

Self harm can be very dangerous, and yes you could possibly die - the best thing for someone who is self harming is to seek professional help ASAP.
You can die if you got to far. Self harm is an unhealthy behaviour and although the reason is very rarely of suicidal nature you can accidentally hurt yourself really bad. When talking about Self Harm in terms of cutting oneself it is fairly easy to bleed to much and die.

Self harm comes in many forms. Not all of these forms of self harm can cause you to die, however, certain types of harming yourself could lead to death.
Yeah, self harm can result in death. You might end up cutting a nerve or a blood vessel. Over bleeding can also result in death. Infections also lead to death. Please do not self harm.
Usually the intent of self-harm (as it was for me, too) is to try and cope with your problems so that you can continue living, there usually isn't a suicide wish for self-harmers. That being said, there is a lot that can go wrong when you self-harm. You can cut too deep, injure yourself too severely, bleed out, and your wound can even get infections that, if not treated correctly, can be life-threatening. Self-harm usually does not cause death, but it's still a problem and should not be taken lightly.

It depends on how and what you do to self-harm. Cutting yourself is the most common, and if you cut too deep or get infected, it can end up being fatal. Cutting is never something I'd recommend, and you should seek help for it.

You can definitely die from self harm, it is a very dangerous thing to do. I feel so sorry for anybody who is so empty that they have to harm themselves to feel normal, stay strong
Self harm is something I have personally dealt with and the scary part about it is that you can die from this activity. Not only is it dangerous regarding your life it is also addictive, people can end having a compulsion towards self harm if its practiced on a regular basis and becomes a ritual. It is often used as a coping mechanism however, if this is your way of coping, you are risking your life and YOU ARE LOVED.
There have been very few deaths due to self harm compared to how many people actually self harm. Deaths that do occur from self harm more than likely are a result of having suicidal thoughts. The main risk with self harm is that if you cut yourself too deep, or nick a blood vessel,in which case you can bleed to death if the bleeding isn`t controlled, but the likelihood of this happening is low. Other methods of self harm, such as bruising, burning, and scratching can`t really result in any major harm, but this does not make them anymore serious. If you are self-harming, it`s important to understand that you can get help and find different ways of coping, you can always speak to a listener like myself, have a look at the self-help guides or join a group chat. We are here for you
Yes, harming yourself is dangerous. Look for other ways to handle your emotions. But first, seek help.
Yes, you can. Depends on how often you do it and how deep your wounds are. It's nt uncommon for someone to cut too deep, no matter how careful they think they are. Self harming, like an self-destructive habit, can, one day, kill you.
