Perfect therapy for people who need help. I would like to say, I never can imagine it could be possible to heal people like that

First thing would be to learn some grounding exercises. Most folks don't always know what their triggers are, making them impossible to avoid, so it's best to know what to do when they strike. My favorite grounding exercise is thus: Name to yourself 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. This will help you get out of your own head enough to calm yourself. Second would be to give yourself patience. Pain is relative - an arrow wouldn't hurt a rhinoceros but it would kill a fox, and that doesn't mean one animal is more powerful than the other. Each person goes at their own pace.

Dealing with trauma is never linear, so it is normal to still be dealing with what happened no matter how much time has passed. Whether it was 5 years ago or 5 minutes ago, you are allowed to feel and react to something that has happened to you. Reaching out to therapists that specialize in what you are experiencing is a great start, as they can give you coping skills and resources to better manage how you're feeling. Even free resources like 7Cups is a great way to start the journey of recovery. You never have to completely "get over" something, especially something traumatic. You can recover, though, by learning what best helps you live and manage!

Sometimes when a traumatic event occurs in our lives they stay implanted in our minds as Flash Bulb Memories. These are memories that we can envision with high detail and can remember vividly. These events will always stay in our minds, especially if they are big because they are important to us. It is important to recognize the growth you have made from 5 years ago to day. Although you cannot go back and change what is done, you can remember that you have grown from that time and you are allowed to let it go and work on your happiness. Sometimes some thoughts may come and you may never forget this event and that is okay too! We are all human and one beautiful aspect of all of us is that no matter what we go through we can learn and grow. I hope you have a lovely day :)
