It's always the people closest to us that get hurt first. It's a human and natural thing to do, whether you're feeling happy, sad, angry, just any emotion...the immediate reaction is to project your feeling on those closest to you or your loved ones. What helps for me, is to write them down. That way, I'm able to put my thoughts into words and maybe release some negative feelings. What does help for a lot of others, is meditation. Take a deep breath and use your senses to focus on the basic things happening around you such as the noise coming from the air con. Of course, what works for me may not work for you but I do hope the above is useful and you're able to figure it out.

Try changing the way you say things, like instead of saying "you make me feel...... when you....."switch it around and say " I feel ......when you/someone......" It's only a small change but can make the world of difference. Your loved ones won't feel that you're directing negativity at them or blaming them so much but at the same time it will help them be aware of the kind of things that may trigger or upset you. I'm sure you don't mean to project your feelings onto your loved ones and while they may understand, it can be hard for them too. I hope you find a suitable balance :)

Try emotional journaling! It's a great way to label the emotions that you are feeling. Feel an emotion, write it down, then analyze it. Where did this emotion come from? Do I like this emotion? What is a way that I can control this emotion? This is a great way to understand what you are feeling. Understanding yourself is a big step for most people to take. Once you can understand yourself, everything comes a lot easier. It's your loved ones job to understand you. They are there to support you, but they can only understand you if you understand what you need.
