Have you heard of body dysmorphic disorder? It is a disorder often associated with eating disorders that leads to a distorted image of one's body. Your body might be perfectly fine but you see it in a distorted way and are unable to see yourself how you truly are. Also today's beauty standards make it look like you have to be extremely skinny to be beautiful - which is neither healthy nor true. If you are normalweight there is no way you can be fat. If you think you have a distorted body image I suggest you see a councellar - they can help ypu learn to see and accept yourself as you truly are. Please take care x
I've struggled through both anorexia nervosa and bulimia,so let me answer this. It is because we are blinded by the standards that a section of the society has set for beauty. We are not confident enough to accept the way we are and we rely on what others perceive us to be. Beauty truly lies in the character and the soul,but the way men and women are projected in television and movies dwell on a separate idea alogether,which is WRONG. We'll feel we're fat if we compare ourselves to someone thinner,or with sharper features. The comparison in the first place is falsified , and if we really are to compare,then try measuring the humaneness of the souls,too. Anyone can work out at the gym, gain muscles or add curves,six pack abs ,etc to their physical feat but to add beauty to the soul is an arduous task,not possible for all. Curves won't change the world.. generosity and goodness will.You are perfect the way you are, but if you really wish to bring in changes,do it for yourself than for someone else. So the next time you think you're fat..well, think of all the other good qualities you possess along with it;)
It seems that we always think negatively of ourselves no matter how thin or big we may be. Darling, you're beautiful inside and out no matter your size or shape.

Everybody has their own opinions on bady image. There's different types of 'fat' people or 'skinny' people. I believe that everyone is perfect and not fat, ugly, or abnormal!

Thinking you're fat can be caused by a wide array of reasons, mainly low self esteem. As a lot of people have said, you are your own worst enemy. You judge yourself more than anyone else. A lot of times the flaws we see in ourselves , are valued by others

It's due to a warped perception of body image and weight that is usually fuelled by society, family, friends or yourself. Most people do not see themselves accurately, and this may be due to Black and White thinking. You feel that you must be one extreme or the other, you struggle to find or accept an inbetween
I wish that you didn't feel this way. It is difficult to have a positive body image in today's society. A lot of negative feelings towards yourself are things that you have been conditioned to feel like you are not worthy. I hope that you can take a step back and try to work through the negative self talk. Try to weigh yourself with different standards not the way you look in the mirror or based on what the scale says. I struggle with this myself and have found iweigh by Jameela Jamil to help me take a step back and work to correct the way I judge myself.
