Body dysmorphia is a disorder in which we see our body different than it really is. We can see things that are not really there, or deform in our minds the way our body really is. It is a disorder that should be seen by a therapist or doctor, because it can lead to unhealthy choices. Be hopeful! It is treatable, just ask for help.
Seeing your body as a distorted negative image.
The person experiencing it doesn't see the body in it's true form, not necessarily like a funny mirror but like looking at themselves in the 3rd person and seeing a pudgy or negative image regardless of the actual aesthetic appearance

Body dysmorphia iisn't just a simple extension of low self-esteem, or bad body image. Its a much-misunderstood anxiety disorder with strong links to obsessive-compulsive traits.
Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is an anxiety disorder that causes a person to have a distorted view of how they look and to spend a lot of time worrying about their appearance. For example, they may be convinced that a barely visible scar is a major flaw that everyone is staring at, or that their nose looks abnormal. Another example: a person who is hella thin looks at the mirror and think that he is so fat and ugly but the truth is that he is not. So basically its an anxiety
its a condition where people view their bodys different from how others see them like someone may see themselves as fat when they are not fat they could be not eating or eating very little and still believe that they are fat even when its affecting their health.
Body dysmorphia is a mental condition where you personally view your body completely different to what it is. This may mean that you are a very skinny person, and you see yourself as larger (or the other way around). It may also just be an obsession over a flaw in your physical appearance. It is treatable, but it cannot be cured. Medication, psychologists and doctors should be able to aid in situations such as these.
Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) is an anxiety disorder related to body image. You might be given a diagnosis of BDD if you: experience obsessive worried about one or more perceived flaws in your physical appearance, the flaw cannot be seen by others or appears very slight.
Body dysmorphia is when one obsesses about something they believe is a flaw within their physical appearance.
To go by the definition, body dysmorphia is a mental illness involving obsessive focus on a perceived flaw in appearance. Anyone with this often feels insecure about themselves and, if available, will most likely go to extreme measures to alter their appearance.

Body dysmorphia is anxiety based on your body image, you worry about what you believe are the flaws and faults of your body like stretch marks, freckles, scars, if you're skinny enough and things like that.

The official definition is "Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a mental disorder characterized by an obsessive preoccupation that some aspect of one's own appearance is severely flawed and warrants exceptional measures to hide or fix it. In BDD's delusional variant, the flaw is imagined."
Body dysmorphia is a disorder that causes a distorted view of how we look. Someone with body dysmorphia will be convinced that something is wrong with his/her physical appearance. That's the reason why this person won't believe anyone who will try to confort her/him.
body dysmorphia is usually used to describe any person that has a 'warped' or unrealistic vision of how they look. this could be someone who thinks they are far too overweight, when others think thry look normal or even slim and vice versa. it usually arises from anxiety of self image and the constant worry begins to warp your vision of yourself.
Body dysmorphia is the feeling of not feeling comfortable or even hating your body. This can happen to pre-operation transgender people, or people unhappy with how they look.

Seeing your body as something different to what it is, either seeing yourself as over or underweight when in reality it probably isn't the case.
A persistent, distorted view of one's own body shape and size. It can be fixated on a certain part of the body, or extend to the entire body. Chronic "mirror checking" is something often experienced by those with BDD. My experience with body dysmorphia is akin the living in a carnival mirror maze.

it is a deformity or abnormality in the shape or size of a specified part of the body...............
Body dysmorphia is seeing your body as something it isn’t. It could be that someone who is very thin sees themself as very large. Body dysmorphia is common in eating disorders.
For me, I experienced (and continue to do so) body dysmorphia due to emotional trauma growing up with an abusive mother. She would constantly put me on diets and obsess over any blemishes on my skin. I still can't see myself as anything but grotesquely overweight despite the input from doctors and professionals to the contrary. I literally cannot understand how they see me as thin when i have been so completely inundated with the lesson that i am horribly fat and in need of restrictions.
