A lot of people who think you cannot fit in are scared or threatened by you, whether you have a different appearance or different beliefs, simply because they want to believe that the way they live is the ideal way to live. Your different ideas or appearance causes them to question why you don't want to be like them, sometimes even making them think that the way they are is wrong. So, many times, to make themselves feel valid again, they treat you badly.
Some people may feel threatened because they feel that you're different. It is just like the movie Divergent. But don't the Divergent people end up overcoming everyone else? Be yourself. Never let anyone tell you who you have to be. :)
Society wants you to be like everyone. And it frustrates them when someone is different and stands out. Those who judge people for being different are the ones that are not brave enough to be themselves.

They treat you differently because they see you as a threat. They will try to destroy you because they realize that you have a power to somehow overrule them.

Fitting in is a crucial topic at this time. Fitting in is easier said than done. If you're not this then you can't fit in, but if you're this you still can't fit in. People tend to have models or bases of what they want a person to be and if you don't fit their standards then they won't treat you as they do to others.

Because people get scared of what they think is not normal. You're normal, just special, and are supposed to ve treated just like anybody else in the crowd.
Because they don't realise that you are awesome and that you don't need to fit in as long as you are happy being you
Maybe they think your not trustworthy or cool/popular enough or maybe they are just mean and don't think you are pretty enough or might spread rumors
a lot of the time if people are envious of you, they will not allow you to fit in

Everyone fits in somewhere. Life is a puzzle and were all apart of it. They just need to get to know you

They are afraid of change. If you're different, then they think you have the power to change things, and they aren't ready for that, I think
