I guess it would do with my earliest childhood. I come from a hard family and ever since I was little, there was this pressure on me to behave properly and not bring shame upon my family. And ever since, I’d guess, I care how people view me, because not bringing shame to my family has been stitched inside my brain. Another reason would be social anxiety. My brain tends to come up with the cruelest things to me, and that tiny little part of that’s anxiety, comes marching with an army and tell me that it is true.

I found that when I am feeling bad or judging myself or my actions to harshly, I project my feelings of self onto others or I feel my feeling being reflected back to me and believe it is coming from others. I am the common denominator and the work is an inside out job. I usually can notice when I get into a space where I blame others or have sour feelings toward others, I need to turn inward to gain perspective. I need to see what is my part in the relationship. I can do this through meditation, deep breathing techniques, or prayer.
